The Network

A Novel

In the months leading up to 9/11 the intelligence community is on high alert. Former army officer Anthony Taverner is recruited by the Secret Intelligence Service for an apparently straightforward mission: to destroy a cache of the CIA’s precious Stinger missiles in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. But in the kaleidoscopic world of espionage, nothing is what it seems. As the struggle to avert a catastrophe begins, Taverner must keep his allegiance to an authority which he must keep secret even from his closest allies.

Based on real characters and  described as ‘hauntingly real’ and ’strikingly authentic’ by former members of the intelligence community, this is a thriller of rare authenticity which raises plentiful questions about the role of intelligence agencies in historical events deliberately hidden from the public eye.
